Might say not 100% confirmed yet but looks ugly if you read the article.

I was up ther over the weekend and was fishing off the jetty on Monday around lunch. Must have happened Monday arvo as no word of that yesterday. I was at a worse spot for crocodiles up at the morgan/mcivor rivers throwing cast nets off sand banks. A mates large dog was taken off the bank there a few years ago, but a bloke! makes you wonder when your time is up its up. Cheers Tony

Just watched the news. The place they are loking at is popular for bait gathering, it is a little track of gravel that gives you acess to a creek of the river at the back of the old council buildings. Done a fair bit of cast netting there myself. I suppose you just play the lucky card everytime you fish these rivers. Sad to see. Regards Tony

Not good at all. But ''near 7 metre crocodile'', i would like to see that. Thats really is the media over exagerating. Very very unfortunate for the man and his family though. Not a nice way to go thats for sure.

I find it a little heartless that out of over 600 views of this post only 2 people have commented. A Honda generator attracts more interest then a mans life being taken by a crocodile. Surely this isnt the usual Exploroz attitude. Very sad.

Bit hard to comment on the sad passing of anyone, maybe that is why there are limited reactions.
Sadly he is a Vietnam Vet.
Sadly he is a husband, father, son,.......

What would you like everyone to say Kroozer?
Would typing things on an internet forum help anybody involved deal with the death? I don't think it would.

I do not see the point in great heaps of sympathy comments like we continually get on this forum. This is a technical and camping type forum not a sympathy/condolance type forum.

Of course "A Honda generator attracts more interest then a mans life being taken by a crocodile." In that case someone has asked for some assistance or advice. We can be of some assistance in those cases.

What a bunch of w@nkers. A Vietnam Vet for christs sake and you dont even have the decency to post something. Thats low, the lowest form of human you can get if you ask me. Its not about trying to make anything easier for those involved its about paying your respect, and understanding how the family must be feeling.

RIP - LEST WE FORGET

Kroozer. Take it easy - it showed no respect talking like that on the forum. I agree with comments like "what can you say" - it has been said - "it is sad". At the moment it is still speculation though, it is not confirmed that a croc took the fellow as yet. Having lived in Cooktown for 8 years and know the amount of people that use the area I do find it hard to gather it was a croc. We will wait and see, it may have been an unfortunate accident. Wit Respect to the unfortunate fellow Tony.

Tony B, how do you find it hard to be a croc, when there were croc slides in the area. Are you saying that croc's arent capable of this, or that they arent killers? Or are you saying that its fake, and just some sort of scam?
