Trying to find out about a camping spot with a swimming hole and possibly a waterfall in the above region. Son can't quite remember the details and how to get there.

Hi di

The only place I can think of in that general area that has a swimming hole is Towarri National Park. Try this address

http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/parks/RegionHunter.htm

this site can show you all the parks in that area

Enjoy

Cheers

HI Di, Have a look at the run from Wingen down Bucketts way and towards Glouster, You turn off and head up to Nowendoc, There is a beautiful spot at the top end of the manning, and you can also drop back down to the New England from Nowendoc and end up not far from Willow Tree.

Cheers Axle.

Axle, I think you might be thinking of Wingham, not Wingen, which is a pub and a few houses on the New England H'way north of Scone. The Buckets Way run you mention is a wonderful part of Oz just the same. Many options up there.
Cheers mate
Fred.

Depending which way you are coming, If you are just passing through and want a spell for a day or two, why not turn off for Glenbawn Dam at Aberdeen. Great camping, boating and fishing, and then come back down into Scone via some of OZ's best horse studs. A great drive as well, and not a massive detour.

While you are in that area, you could head up to Ellerston and say G'day to the Packers :-))
