Hi all,
pretty quiet so far tonight so I was catching up with some reading and came across the following. Gee whizz attitudes have changed or am I just too bloody old now? ( No need to respond to that comment thanks, the War Office has it covered.)

No Nev,not too old ,just seeing reality in the world a lot more clearly.
As a fellow Taswegian I've seen the waste of space a lot of our younger generation are becoming.I've spent the last 27 years playing in rock bands around Tas and have definitely seen drunkeness and outright aggression in our youth grow hugely.

I refuse to play at some hotels these days because of the violence. And it's not just blokes either. One of the ugliest fights I've witnessed involved two young women, full of idiot juice and argueing over some dropkick at the bar.All drunk and no older than 20!

I think the 'responsible serving of alcohol' legislation has been forgotten about by money hungry bar managers these days. Several times I've seen people who can hardly stand straight being served yet more drink. They always promote themselves as doing the right thing whenever this is brought up by a television report, but reality is completely different.
There was a time when you could walk home after a night out, but these days you risk getting you face punched off by some lowlife who just wants some 'fun'.What's more they hunt in packs.

Respect for other people and their space is gone these days. There are lots of responsible young drinkers out there but the yobbos are definitely on the increase.

The drink-driving thing is another issue again. Look at the side of any highway and check out the discarded beer and 'alcopops' cans lying there, probably thrown from moving vehicles. Makes you wonder what condition the drivers heading in the opposite direction are in.....especially at night when the the police cant see the can in their hands or mouth.
I've been subjected to countless breathalyser tests on the way home from gigs at 2.00AM always 0.00. There should be a test unit on EVERY road out of city entertainment areas as far as I'm concerned!

I'm enjoying my evenings at home these days. Cant be bothered with the BS associated with pubs and mainly the youngsters out on the town. Besides ,spring and summer is time for the caravan with the kids and showing them how you can have fun without being drunk.

You really have to wonder, don't you ?
Here on the Gold Coast we have not just encouraged but institutionalized drinking. "Schoolies" and "Booze Cruises" come to mind. We have lots more "events" where the police can't do much against excessive drink etc e.g. Indy
And then we profess outrage when some family is wiped out by a drunk driver. When 1 in 30 drivers tested in one crack down is DUI !
I'm not a wowser, I used to enjoy a drink, and have nothoing against the responsible use of ink a hol.

I'm not a great fan of conspiracy theories, but I'm starting to ask exactly who benefits in the short term, and what their political connections are.
