Hi,
I thought I would do the right thing and change the fuel filter on my Nissan Navara Diesel Turbo 2004 model before I head of on my big trip tomorrow. The problem I am is once I changed the filter, filled the fuel filter with with diesel, primed it up the vehicle now won't start. My question is has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any suggestion on what I may be doing incorrectly? Any help would be great.

You still must have air the in lines, try priming it again and let it flow out, then connect hose back up.
cheers,
Lance

Thanks Lance, I finally got it started. I'm not sure if I will try that again, might leave it to the mechanic next time.
Regards

Pump the primer till it gets hard,, then wait a mo and do it again and again and again and again...

Peter
I got caught bad once, but I put together this routine, and still do it today, on the Patrol.
I would loosen off the fuel cap, and make sure that the fuel
tank(s) was full. Dunno if it does anything, but I recon anything like that will help.
I would help the hand primer by just attaching some clear fuel line to the outlet of the filter, and sucking diesel into the filter.
The idea is to suck the diesel into the clear hose, so you can see what's going on, and not get a gut's full.
Then I would hand prime. never had it play up on me again
Also make sure that you have put a little greasearound the "O" rings, to help seal them, and make sure that the drain plug is secure, on the bottom of the filter, and that the sensor wire is connected.
Cheers
Bucky

Thanks Bucky, your advise was very helpful, finally got the thing started. First Nissan 4x4 I have owned, always owed landcruiser's before, things are a little different on the Nissan.
