Hi Guys,
Just a question in regard to taking the roof and top portion of the sides off on my FJ40.. I live in VIC, does anyone know the legalities involved in taking the roof and top half of the sides off? From what i can see the whole door frame must come off also? If this is correct then obviously the door cannot remain on so what would the legalities be in having no doors also? Is this still legal to do, i know back in the day there were no probs with it but im thinking nower days people may have a problem with it.
Any help or suggestions would be awesome!
Thanks in advance!
JB

Don't know about the legalities.
Mind you it's about 20 years since I had an FJ40 and removed the roof and sides but I definitely remember the doors could still be used as the hinges and latch are not in the areas you remove.
I think you need to have some sort of roll over protection to cover the legalities and to mount the upper point of the
seat belts.
You can also get sports doors from
places like Eureka Off Road who are in Dandenong and can probably answer the legal side for you too.
Cheers
