Hi Richard,
Thankyou for taking time to put up your photo's, my wife and I are considering a similar trip next May, June.
Would a road going caravan be ok on some of the gravel roads you travelled on?
Thanks Alan.

Hi Alan

An on road van should be OK. just drop the tyre pressures and take it easy. the hole trip could be done with a 2WD ute, Falcon or Commodore, they are maintained dirt roads.

Cheers

As you know it was very very wet out your neck of the woods. With the Hyden/Noresman Rd being closed we couldn't access the Holland Track from there. Spent a wet but enjoyable Friday night camped up of a track in the shaddow of the Humps at Hyden. From there we meandered back towards Brookton via the Holland Way. Went as much as possible down country Lane type tracks and managed to find 2 more excellent camps along the way. Still a lot of water around as we progressed further South West. Sunday we camped near Boygin Rock.

All in all while not what we planned the 4 days were still fun and we saw parts of the wheat belt we'd never seen before.

G'day Richard,

the Goldfields, obiviously have a deep rooting in my soul, I have done many miles there and was good to see those photos. Tell me, did you miss Giles's tombstone or had you seen it before (at Coolgardie) and did you visit the Goldfields museum there to see the extraordinary bottle collection?

cheers,

Jeremy.

When I was that way last year I stopped to look at Siberia's cemetary and there was some dude with a loader digging up the dirt accross the road.
Was he still there?
Prob gunna be another 2 years before I head out that way again :(
