Unfortunately we have arrived home. I just wanted to let everyone know about the great caravan
park we stayed in near Port Macquarie. We are ruled where we stay by the four legged friend and booked into River Lodge Tourist Village at Blackmans Point (no affiliation) because he was allowed.
Well what a great little find. It is an old fashioned
park that allows fires in drums, takes pets and kids, and has a
boat ramp. The amenities are clean and adequate. There is a swimming pool for the kids. We were in an en suite site right beside the
boat ramp. It was very difficult (not) getting out of bed every morning and looking at the gleaming waters of the Hastings river.
Just when you think it couldn't get any better, along comes the owner Chris. He stopped by and asked everyone if they needed anything in town when he was going, opened the
shop up out of hours for supplies and gave the best customer service I have ever come across. They have a website and on google maps it actually shows right through the
park.
Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but thought I would share this little gem.

Great to find a gem eh? We had the same experience at
Red Rock. Did you go for a spin along
the beach to
Point Plomer?

We just had a week up at lake st Clair and had a similar experience. We mainly went for the bass fishing, but it was a very nice
Park with wood bbqs and plenty of shade. The lady who runs it for the
Singleton Council was most obliging and friendly. And my 13 year old got a 50.25 cm bass on a 6 weight fly rod. Dammm outfished by him again. LOL
Cheers Pete

Might sound a bit unbelievable but I hand fed a blxxdy big eel a bit of fish gut on the last night. We use to clean the fish in the same spot and they soon wised up to it. Was standing in 6 in of
water the night before and one brushed past my leg.

Hi Steve,
Blackmans point is on the northern side of the Hastings River and almost opposite the airport.
We had all the planes going over as
well, but not the engine noise from take off and landings.
We will be back there again, to the same
park sometime in the next twelve months.
Cheers,
Michelle
