I have a mate who has destroyed the rear diff in his old 60 series cruiser.

Does anyone know where we can pick up a replacement at a reasonable price. Lets face it the truck is fairly low value to start with so we don't want new or reconditioned.

Some one in Townsville would be great. Freight is expensive these days.

Yea, wrecker is best bet here. Do not forget that 80 series rear diff and 60 series front one interchangeable with rear 60, though watch for different ratio. I must state that it is utterly rubbish when someone states that diff job only for diff mechanic (successfully did two by my own). Get some “cobalt blue” or equivalent from Repco and surely you can do it by yourself. Although hydraulic press is virtually compulsory.

Good luck

Probably not much help, but my 60 had a crook Diff when I bought it a few years back . I took it to Aussie Diffs at Currumbin, G/COAST who used 2nd hand parts to put in a new Crown wheel & Pinion, Carrier Bearings & Wheel bearings for under $300 at the time. The Diff has performed better than new since & hasn't a noise in it. He said at the time if he had to rely on Nissan diffs to make a living he would be out of business.

I can sell you a rear diff for about $900, Comes with free front diff, 2h motor with extractors, gear box, transfer, chassis, allow wheels, all 60 series panels, seats etc. All you need to do is unbolt the diff and you are ready to go. I am only 3500 km from you, you drive it home and there is no freight charge.
I hope this helps, (I doubt it)
