Huts of the High Country near Mansfield

Hello
Am new to this forum, but have been advised that it is an excellent resource of information etc.
Am planning a trip to 'Hut of the High Country' (in and around Mansfield/Craig's Hut. Does any one have GPS points for these huts:
Bindaree, Blackbird, Bluff, Bluff Spur, Craigs, Frys, Gardners, GGS, Howqua Gap, Keep Dry, King Saddle, Lovicks, Mitchells, Noonans, Pickerings, Ritchies.
and maybe the following as well:
Evans Creek, Jamieson Ski Club, Lazarinis Spur, Mt No. 3 refuge, Mt Terrible fire tower, Pannican Creek, Pikes Flat, Pikes refuge, Razorbacks (3), Silverwater, Stockyard Creek, Upper Jamieson, Wrens Flat.
Furthermore, if you can advise of any interesting tracks in and around the area, that would be great.
Thanks again guys.
Cheers.

If you go to Places you should be able to gain most of the info you requested from there.
If not try in the Treks

Let me know how you go with the Places system. As a first time visitor to the system and places I am always interested in your feedback on how easy/hard it is to use the various parts of ExplorOz.

The places system should be able to give you gps data, photos and descriptions of all the places you are looking for and of course if it is not in there please add the information as you find it to make it easier for others in the future to gain as much information as possible.

Also as mentioned above make sure you check out the treks system as we have several different routes in the High Country (I linked one to the thread - see the top box in the right hand side of this post) already documented with driving notes, gps data and maps.

Enjoy DM

Ta DM
Spent around an hr or so surfing the site and got several GPS co-orindates. I DID find it frustrating tho to note that even though i could see the places on the map - there were no waypoints (your post covered that answer - if people don't upgrad ehte site, then no info for future visitors!!)
As for the thread - ??? - where is that?
Thanks again

I think David means the High Country Article attached to your original question.

If you are taking the wife, family friends of ours have opened a spa center down there called "Spirits high". If she wants a day to herself while you take on some challenging stuff, i'll organise a decent discount for you.
Their family has run cattle down there for generations and also rebuilt the original Bluff Hut after it burned down, so could recommend some good sites to see if you like.

Ta Tippa. No SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) is studying a t the minute - so no go.
Good idea though to organise a bucks run and have the girls come up as well - those who don;t want to get dirty can have a good long soak.

you might find that some of those huts you mentioned could be gone now as the 2003 and later fires burnt them down i think in total there was about 22 burnt they are restoring some.
there is a book published on hi-country huts it might have the info you want good luck

Did the Victoria trip last year with Mansfield and the Hut loop on the agenda. Camped down along Buttercup and started the climb up only to find the first three huts destroyed. Weather closed in and we made a hasty retreat.
Give the Mansfield Information Centre a call and they should point you straight.
If you do go, pay attention to UHF channels and markers on trees for logging trucks.

Ta Paul C. Yes - we're very fortunate to have tracks so close to Melbourne. From what I understand, there's not much you guys in NSW can do.
I remember we did a trip to Mt Stirling in 2001 (March) and one of the rigs rolled a tyre (just coming off Monument Track). I took the rest of the crew back down the mountain and raced back up to help re-seat the tyre - it was snowing... quite amazing...
Thanks for the info - I've gotten in touch with Parks and the Huts of the High Country Association (finally) so should be able to get some info.
Thanks again for all the info guys
