Hi Does anyone have experience with an Engel 14 litre. Their website says "DC Power Consumption: Variable from 0.5 to 3.9 AMPS Maximum"
This quite a range and seems a hihger and lower than a small Waeco. What would the daily avg draw be on say a 30c ambient temp
Thanks

I've been looking into this, on an international site I found info that said its draws 1.8amps at fridge setting and 3.9 at deep freeze. There is something like an 18% duty cycle.
It sounds amazing and I want one to complement my 30L. Just waiting for a bargain, if Anaconda had sold them I would have bought one at the 20% sale yesterday but when I rang they said they didn't currently stock it (bet it was out the back somewhere).
Just had a look can't find the link again easily, but they had a graph of the pull down, from memory about 45min to zero, and to -18 at 90min.
Very impressive stuff.
And they say 45db, are engels really noisy?

1.8amps for a 14L fridge would be very high.
That is 43AH over a 24 hr period. I'd be surprised if it was anywhere near that. Should be about 20 (ie. just under 1amp average draw).

Hey chisel
I wasn't trying to say average current draw, that's what they say the motor needs to start on from outside operating temperature to pull down to what you have selected.
More accurate to work on the cycle, if say 20% at 1.8amp current draw than that's 0.324 of an amp over one hour (presumably on say 4C and full).
But I don't own one, yet.
