Has anyone done this . The rope has broken and we are having an issue getting something to grip it to pull it out . Wire isn't working .

There are instructions in gregorys to remove the aerial leads but not how to get at the base of the mast . ie where do we get into the body to get at the rope so we can pull it out please

Is there an easy access point please

Bev

Have you tried the 'Up-Down' switch for the aerial. The 'Up' position should eject tne last broken bit of rope
Cheers

If the drive cable is broken normally you have to remove the assy, disassemble it & remove the broken section of the drive cable

As stated you have to remove the body and it is in behind the metal inner guard. A mongel of a job. Bend the guard back, remove the aerial body, and dismantle it. You will then have to bend the guard back into place.

If the drive motor was going down at the time it broke it has wound the broken part into the housing
Check the length difference between new and old if its less than 300 mm there is usually enough room in the housing to accomodate it as well as the new one ( the broken piece will simply spring out and sit against the outside of the housing)
Feed the new one in move it up and down a couple of times if it works thats fine
Even though the service people at your toyo dealers will tell you its a big job, and charge like a scrub bull, thats what they do
