hi travellers ,has anyone any recent info on the track into steep point in wa?we r planning t be in the area soon and have a slide on camper on a hilux is the trck mission? regards Phil

Hi Phil,

We are currently at Denham Caravan Park and are going there tomorrow. We are towing in a pop top camper and have spoken to the station owners regarding this. They have advised there shouldn't be any drama's with getting it in as the track is OK. There are a couple of long sand hills apparently but the station owner stated if you let your tyres down it is all easy.

Thanks Goona,We have just returned from peron Peninsula after camping out at south gregories.towards the end it was very soft was down to 25psi my hilux is fairly loaded. I have heard that a few people have bin stuck attempting some of the sandhills on the way into steep point.As i am not towing i will give it a go thanx phil

The first sand hill after Cloughs Bar is the one that gives the most grief. Once you get passed that you shouldn't have any trouble.

You will need to let your tyres down to 20 psi - its required by the range and signs make it quite clear.

Phil, We are here a t the moment and got in with out getting stuck towing our Goldstream Camper. Very soft in a few places though but with tyres down to 15 and a lot of right foot wegot through,
