We are on our trip around Australia and the CD player started acting up with "ERR" Appearing on the screen intermittently. after reloading the cd sometimes 4 to 5 times it would work but now after many more KLMs it has stopped working. As we have travelled on a lot of red dirt roads I am guessing it has swallowed some of this fine dust.Has anyone got any suggestions on how to get it going again. Thanks in advance.

Try running a laser lens cleaner through it a couple of times, if it still doesnt work just go out and buy a new one. They are cheap as chips these days, get a decent Kenwood or equivalent brand for around $100 at Strathfield and JB HiFi etc. Best to buy a decent brand though like Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC, Alpine etc.

try giving it a clean but if it needs replacing Id be putting all the cd's onto an ipod type of thingy which runs through a radio channel that you pick....then you wont have to worry about dust getting and wrecking the cd's........thats what I plan on doing for next trip...we average out at 3 cd being ruined each trip!!

good luck!

I have a spare one here, and it works, is clean inside and out.
Out of a 2001 Patrol, $50, you pay the postage and it's yours
