'This Memebr profile is hidden'! Just noticed that some members choose this option. Question is why? I thought the idea was to share experience, ideas & info etc. Why hide a profile? I enjoy looking at what others have and do. Maybee one of these hidden profiles would like to give a reason. Im Just interested. Cheers Tony

Mark. Yes there is a lot who do not put much on. Thats Ok I suppose, but I do enjoy looking at others rigs and pictures. I must admit I do breach their copy right sometimes and past a picture as background for a while. At the moment I have the hat tree posted a little while back. Its all good fun so to all - post a few pictures and a few words that we can enjoy. Cheers Tony

I have my profile hidden for visitors and Anons but available for viewing for Members and businesses. I have had to change email addresses due to not having it hidden to visitors and Anons previously due to getting sick of unwanted emails.

Cheers Kev

I know that, but I was just giving reasons for why I have restricted the viewing of my details ;)

Kev. Ta for that it makes sense, I just use the delete button for unwanted mail, otherwise I may miss somthing that was useful amongst the rubbish. Must be a reason to limit members viewing - but? Ta Tony

Damien. No not after any photos mate, just like looking where others have been by their posted photos etc. Sometimes when I want a change to my puter background and a photo tickles the fancy Ill put it on the screen for a while. Otherwise what is posted is what we will see, I change my posted photos now and again to refresh My Profile. Cheers Tony

Tony

The internet could be a dangerous place and cyber crime is on the up and up.

Maybe some new members are just cautious.

I have been on here for 6 years now and sometimes get into strife with others with different ideas which may be contrary to what their beliefs may be. It is sometimes difficult to ascertainin what mood people are in when they post. Some on here only work up the courage after a few alcoholic beverages in the evening after work and then post something controversial or try to be belligerent. Then there comes a 'wind-up' or a 'fishing expedition'. Then there are the TROLLS. We have had some classic stoushes.

I have my own website and as I advertise it in my avatar(rig pic) I get my fair share of people with an axe to grind. Have even received HATE mail through the post and have been threatened on the forum as well. But I survive....lol

I have often said I should give it away but it keeps me brain working in down time and travel, camping, techinical data on vehicles is of great interest to me and so I spend too much time on here.

But the internet is all about sharing within our world community and it has opened up a dimension in society so that we may improve our lot in the time frame we have here, or for those who follow.

Cheers

WILLEM. Thanks for those views. Yes it takes all to make a world. But as I said to Kev, the delete button is easy to use. Its not easy talking via a key board there is a lot missed in translation when not face to face. A lot take thing said the wrong way because of this and there are others who try to provoke. Its easy just get out of the thread or hit delete to the emails. Where it is all going?? Would be good if we could all have a good full on in debth chat without the rubbish. Cheers Tony

wasn't it because none members don't have a profile....

so when they have a bit of a go, they can see and read members profile, see there pics. etc.

But members know nothing about them, can't see, read about them...

That was my reason anyways..

Cheers

Richard

Members can see me ... none members can't
