Hi all,

We are looking to purchase a Camper Trailer for various camping trips.

We have currently enjoyed camping and now want to step up to a camper trailer. I have had a look at various trailers and are thinking that a Tru Blue - Eagle SS would suit, good value for money with plenty of extras for around $20 -$25K. Could anyone give an opion??

My partner and I are looking to travel from Melbourne to the Kimberly's, across to Mt.Isa and back to Melbourne.

We just hired a prospector II 4x4 camper trailer from

http://hireacampertrailer.com

to go up the canning stock route and it was fantastic. I think they are about $22K to buy. The hard fold out floor is great as it only takes 1 min to set up. I wouldnt buy any camper trailer that didnt have a hard floor after using this one. It has a great kitchen too, tows really well and has a bulletproof finish. Didnt let any dust inside either. We were really impressed.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that, I had a look at them yesterday they looked well made. Did you find that you had enough room in the bed and in the living area?? How did it tow?

The fold out floor area i is only the size of the trailer so its not huge but big enough to lay another 2 swags on it if the rain came.

There is a big awning too that mounts on the side that can be enclosed but we never bothered as we only stayed in the same place for 2 nights maximum.

The bed lifted at the end with the help of gas struts giving access to an area of maybe 6ft x 5ft x 20in. Its all lined in carpet too.

It towed really well behind a hzj75 and also a RA rodeo 3.0td. The web site says it weighs 622kg.

I looked at quite a few before i hired the prospector and it was by far the most sturdy looking and had a great finish and you would expect it too for that kind of money.

Dunno really, mine had a tare weight of 450kg on the compliance plate & weighed in at 911kg.
Had other issues too, I would be happy to discuss, but, in fairness to all, not on a public forum.

A freind of mine had the same issues with weight amongst a couple of other things also. Mainly the kitchen but it was repaired albeit it could have been done better in the finish. some things I noticed were the finish in the stitching in the seam area where exposed canvas where not tucked back in itself. saying that they were pretty good value

Model was an Eagle. How it was taht far out , I ahve no idea, I only know that I have a photo of the compliance plate & a copy of the weighbridge certificate.
As I said previously, if you want full details of my problems I am happy to discuss it offline.
