As traveller2 stated it is possible to get from
Omeo to the
Tom Groggin crossing in about 1 1/2 hrs and yes most of the route is definately 2wd. Not via
Davies Plain track though ;-))
From
Omeo head nth along the
Omeo hwy, about 4k nth turn right onto the Benambra rd, follow this until the left turn onto Beloka rd. Then turn right onto Mt Hope rd which is 2wd around to the northern side of Mt Hope where it joins the
Tom Groggin track. From this point on it is 4wd, quite steep as the track drops straight down
the ridge to
Tom Groggin.
From the point nth of Mt Hope where the track gose from 2wd to 4wd you can look straight down
the ridge and see the Murray and the
Tom Groggin flats.
Definately not 2wd on the last section down
the ridge but it is avery quick way for us New South Welshmen to access the high country.
