In 3 weeks time people, we will have had what I believe to be our first EO wedding.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
On November 1st Stephen and Judy are getting married in a sunset ceremony on the beach at Wallaroo, South Australia.
Muddy and Trippin met on EO several years ago, and after a lot of internet dating a romance has blossomed, with Judy moving to Adelaide from Brisbane, back a couple of years or so ago.

I first met Muddy when he bought his first 4wd, after many posts on EO (Then, "Stephen L." ) while waiting for his new Prado to arrive and be delivered, about 3 odd years ago.
When in need of somewhere to drive it the next day, I invited him to my house to meet for a coffee, and the rest is history.
Dragging him along on a very mixed array of 4wd events and camps over the next couple of years, he entered a very steep learning curve from the previous Honda civic, at times giving the Credit card hell to get the things that you just have to have to be into 4wding and camping.
We managed to get him and the Prado this far without major incidents, but it did spend an anxious hour or two teetering on its left 2 wheels in the sandhills at Robe one afternoon while waiting for a winch !!!

I first met Judy when she attended one of our pre Xmas EO picnics at Carrisbrooke park at Salisbury a few years ago, while on holidays in SA.
They are both good friends and members of the YP 4wd club, and other than a bit of time off in the last 12 months to get the new house ship- shape are regular participant's in the 4wd scene.

A feast and a weekend camping at Wallaroo will see most of the detail covered, but a major hurdle has arisen?

What do you buy an established 4wd couple who have most of what they need for a wedding present???
Many outrageous ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Pesty

A weekend away to a day spa retreat. have all the bruises massaged and all the mud removed from the fingernails. (judy only perhaps). Spas, food and drink all weekend. Better than a 4th toaster

I happen to know for a fact that they both hanker for a nice new Nissan 3 litre Patrol!!!!!!! hahahaha (NB: If I had one, I'd gladly give it to them!!!! hahaha).

Maybe we could give them an Alpaca? I know of one in the Riverland that his owner (a lovely lady named Elaine) has no further use for...... He'd be a bit hard to wrap though!!!

What about a lifetime's supply of Round-Up for the garden; do you know anybody who can get that really "top-shelf" stuff???

Hmmm, running out of ideas; I'd like to try and get hold of a bag of seconds from my workplace, but I always seem to be there at the wrong time (or maybe I'm just not there often enough) and my colleagues seem to get all the spoilt stock.....

I'll watch this thread with interest as I'm in the same predicament as you, Mr Pesty.....

Cheers

Roachie

Another idea has just been whispered in my ear........

Perhaps you could either make a quick trip over to Fyshwick, ACT or get your fingers to do the walking and arrange for a plain, brown paper package to be delivered from there with various battery-operated "appliances" enclosed???? hahahaha

Yes Mr and Mrs Roach, we know how you think, but funnily enough someone off EO suggested a blow up doll, not sure if muddy could keep up to 2 women in his life??? hahahaha

Yes John, we all know that giving away "Nissan grenades" is the only way to keep up there sales.
It would be good for Judy to go to work in around town, close to easy roadside assist for minimum inconvenience !!! LOL

We are intending a trip to YP in November if that suits some of your members. We don't know where yet.

To Stephen and Judy,
good luck for the 1ST. Renee and I are also getting married on the 1ST in the Daintree.
We have little Lee, and a week in FNQ, without the little maggot, thanks to Aunty Lou our resident baby sitter, is the best wedding pressy we could ever get.
ooohhh the serenity!

Had a similar problem for a friend getting married who is in the same car club. Has been known to go pretty hard at times.

So we went down to the local boating shop and bought an anchor and a short length of chain, and a shackle.
Polished it an had our names engraved on it, celebrating the event.

The idea was it could be used in an emergency, and we did try it out and it did hold the car on a slope. (But would not be recommended recovery gear.)

It also symbolized that stage in life when one commits to some one else and decisions can not be made as easily or care free.

Can't take your eyes off this site for FIVE minutes!!

Yes, we are tying the knot soon with a few of our closest friends and relations.

We are very proud to have come together through this website and look forward to many years associating with some of the wonderful people we have met at gatherings and meets as well as those that we have never met but feel we know so well.

Can't help with ideas for wedding present other than "make it a big one!!".

To say that getting into 4WDing (and ExplorOz) have been "life-changing" is something of an understatement! It is quite special to know that people out there are thinking of us.
