Inland Sailor
Possibly travelling through this part of the world over the warmer months and am wondering what should be seen as I pass by.
The SE corner of OZ doesn't seem to get much attention as a destination and I'm also wondering why?

IMHO this is the best part of Australia.
Corringle Foreshore Reserve near Orbost/
Marlo is a superb place to
camp.
Paynesville
Raymon Island
Lake Tyers
Venus Bay
Inverloch
The waterways are superb, great if you have a boat.
If your budget will stretch hire a hoseboat at Metung for a few days.
Jim.

Hi Sailor (?),
We spent a little time at Banksia
Bluff, part of the Cape Conran Coastal
Park earlier this year, a great place. Access via Orbost/
Marlo or from Bemm River and drive through the forest.
Excellent beach, great walks etc.
This really is a great part of Vic.
Rgds,
Rob.

Wingan Inlet is lovely. Walks, swimming, fishing, surf beach, river, boating, wildlife (seals, monitors, wallabies, etc, including sand flies sometimes, unfortunately).

Guys, stop giving it away.
We love the place and have travelled exstensively throughout the area several times a year for the past 6 or so years.
Now that it's up here, I may as
well continue.
Wingan Inlet and Thurra River are great but terrible during Christmas and
Easter holidays.
Lake Tyers - Pettmans Beach (on the opposite side of the lake mouth to the town itself) is a great fishing spot. You can
camp down there but be prepared for sand flies etc. The
camp area is not the prettiest going but it's more for the fishing (Salmon/Gummy off
the beach).
