There was something about this posted awhile ago??

Thought to be something to do with fuel injection system if my memory serves me??

Maybe do an archive search and see what comes up other than that I'm sure a current 200 series owner will be along shortly to provide some detail.

Yes! have driven a friends 200 and it stalled on me twice, both when coasting along to a stop.
He was with me at the time and said it hasn't happened to him before and to my knowledge has not happened since.

Cheers

Doesn't sound like a fuel filter if it does it when coasting to a stop. But like all these things with warranty, they will point to that as the culprit since it's overdue (never mind the logic!)

wB

The one I drove had not even been run in, so I tend to agree with joc45 that it doesn't sound like the fuel filter.

Hopefully it should store a trouble code or fault, then the dealer can check it through the ECM.

Are you sure you need to change the fuel filter? My 200 had a separate brochure in the manual advising NOT to change the fuel filter due to the chance of dirt contamination. I think the filter only needed changing every 100,000kms.

A few 200's have had an issue with fuel pump pressures, not sure of exact reasons but were replaced with new pumps by Toyota under warranty. There is more info on the LCOOL site where there is a similar thread today (yours?).

Yes seems to be common on the diesels not the petrol. As John above said it has been said on here before. Was only talking to a mate yesterday who has just come back from two weeks away and was driving his mates 200 also diesel. It has been stalling and was taken back to Toyota prior to the holidays and was presumably fixed (didnt say what it was and I forgot to ask). Well it wasnt and did it to them about 6 times through the two weeks they were away. It was going back to Toyota yesterday. I will see if I can find anything out tomorrow for you. I belive it went to a Toyota dealership over Hornsby way, not sure of the dealerships name over their but maybe find out the dealers ship name and ring them and they should have the above mentioned 200 series in there been looked at. YES....have two new troopy's at work and the the engine will just quit even when under power...was very embarrassing coming out of pit 4 and up the ramp when suddenly..nothing...would not start...but you could turn them over....no go.....R260's and CAT 793's floating around....scarey.

It seems after you wait awhile they will start again...no codes...nothing...we still don't know....NOTHING to do with filters or fuel and the like so far...toyota does not seem to know either.

Having similar problems with our Hilux's BUT you get a engine light and codes.

Its a known issue - related to a faulty fuel pump.

Toyota have a fix for it and can identify the issue when you take it to them.

Take a look at this thread on LCOOL
