Maybe I could cut that dint out and make a hinged cover from some alloy chequer plate and then I would have some more storage space. The truck will never go to the panel beaters anyway and this may make it look a tad better.

Could store small things that you need out bush like some rags or tyre patches or some bottled fluids or the like.

Anyone care to comment? LOL

Might be better to use the space from the inside as there would be nothing to fall open, leave open or heaven forbid let dust in ;-))

Would you not run the risk of bashing your new hidey hole in then and not being able to get to the goodies therein?

I do like your tag Bonz. I know that you often travel with two of them though and neither MrsBonz or MissBonza would be argumentative, so you are talking of things beyond your experience. You must be just so wise.

Hi Willem,
I'd be inclined to do what Peter suggested.
I'd get it fixed and make inside a storage space. Less chance of water, dust and other nasty things happening when you lest expect it to happen. You know, Murphy's Law
It's still a good idea, you've gotta use every square inch of space.

Willem
Others have done the "Thinking" gags so i'll leave that one alone.

Still alloy cover it outside and storage access from inside, seems to make sense to me. Best of both worlds maybe. But cover both sides just for balance of appearance though.

Yes I know, you cannot improve on the looks of a Nissan, they appear tough just sitting in the drive.
Cheers Colin.

PS I bet you thought that idea through anyway, once you got over the initial pain of thought.

Yep I'm with this ....

A cover plate and access from inside.

And dont think too much ... in regard to vehicle appearance ... people can only see one side of it at a time.

For sealed access from the outside ... one could use one of those 6" round marine porthole thingos. Ideal for stuffing rags and radiator hoses through ....

the NIKE swoosh is my answer...........................just do it.

No doubt it will get grotty in there , but so what.

If you reinforce the floor, can you put heavier stuff ( like a bottle jack) in there ??????

Other-wise, snatch 'ems & other recovery & tyre stuff would be good to go in there.

Remarkable that I'm still employed lol! Isn't there a few mounting struts and a chasis rail or something just behind that? Actually it begs the question WHO DID IT...you or judith?

Cheers mate

It seems a good idea for a storage area, but you want to work out how to put a frame in there for the hinged flap and some sort of locking mechanism Willem.
It seems to me that you would want to work that out before the gas axe gets to work.

How about a sealed compartment and a down hinged door outside with a hole for using as a dunny? Keep the chemical smell from invading the cabin.
Lucky it's not a Toyota, with that much damage it would be a write off.
(Sorry Tojo owners, it's just a joke. We all know what brand is better)
