This question has nothing to do with 4wdriving and i apologise for that. However we appear to have a problem with Google. When we click google, search results get redirected to 'go google' or we are advised that internet explorer cannot display the web.
Can anyone give us some advice on how to solve this problem? Thanks very much in advance,
regards, Annette

Andrew, I am so glad you put that link up, I was unable to get into that site after I was redirected to it from Google. I have read the info suggested, it has not sunk in yet, so will have to re read it and try and follow the directions. Heres hoping...
Will let you know how we go, fingers crossed,
Annette

i now use, in addition to CA antivurus, Super Antispyware Pro.
It has prevented a lot of headaches during these last lot of school holidays ...i check the logs regulary to see what it has removed and its amazing how many trojans my kids can download in two weeks. Thank god most of them werent nasty ones but i did have the Smit fraud twice...bloody broadband...probably wouldnt happen if i only dialup
and it doesnt use a lot of resources that so many others do (which slows down the computer)

Hi Annette,
you are in a bit of trouble. You have been infected with a nasty bit of spyware that I suspect is playing with your hosts file
A combination of Malabytes and Spybot should solved it I believe.
You will need to boot up in Safe Mode:
Reboot, press F8 until the Safe Mode screen comes up.
Yes, go to step 9.
Run both spybot and Malabytes. There is quite a bit of info on the web about this problem. You may need to get someone to download the software for you on an uninfected machine and put it on a cd or usb drive.
This is a very nasty piece of spyware.
Best of luck. Do NOT do any banking till it is fixed.
Rgds
Nev

Hi Nev,
Thankyou for your advice. I am unable to fix the problem at this end as the virus will not allow me to download the Malwarebytes' anti-Malware (MBA-M). I think we will need to take it into town to get a 'professional' to look at it.
Thanks again everyone for your help,
Kindest regards
Annette

I guess the
forum does seem to be dominated by four wheel drive chat, but I reckon it's more than just 4wd.
I always System Restore when the nasties hit.
Cheers Royce
