Phil. Its a great trip if you go Via Mt Raggard. Its a rough drive though 180k will take you all day + with a climb up to the top of the mount. Narrow rough track you can see it on places. Cheers Tony

Phil,

I did the Mt Ragged trip 3weeks ago, track is very rough and still a little bit of water laying around, nothing too serious, I towed a CT and had no problems, you should be OK.

Hi Phil, Mt Ragged is about 50Kms North West of the Old Telegraph Station at Israelite Bay. There are a couple of ways to get to the Eyre Hwy from that area, Balladonia road, which will bring you out to the Eyre Hwy virtually at the Balladonia roadhouse, or depending on your time schedule you could take the Old Telegraph track or the beach (be careful if driving on the beach, seaweed drifts loosly covered in sand have consumed a few vehicles there and the tides must be known for a safe trip through.) The Telegraph track and beach will take you to where the Cliffs of the Australian Bight start and you will go past the Bilbunia sand dunes which are pure white and enormous well worth a look if you have a bit of time up your sleeve, the climb up is easy now driving on Conveyor belt, this track brings you out on the 90 mile straight further East of Balladonia. Google some of the names written above you should find some more info on this area, hope this helps. Cheers.
