Most steel
places will make you up a "Dog barrier" for around $150 unpainted. Once installed will do the same job as a cargo barrier.

Rexy,
I had a Milford installed at a TJM outlet for about $500+.
For the importance of the job they have to do, ie these things save lives, I wouldn't muck around with having something made up nor installed by someone who wasn't certified to do so. Also, from a warranty perspective Milford absolutely stand by their product.
Cheers,
Stuart

Go look for a second hand one from something or other and remanufacture it to fit, had a Camira wagon one in the back of a MQ and a falcon wagon in the back of my GQ, AT the moment a Falcon panel van one fits beautifully into the GU, rejigged it to fit onto the
seat mounts in the rear and its strong as.
Just give it a try, $50 for a second hand one and $40 of steel and welding stuff and you're doneSo many
places to go!
So much work to do :0(

Got one for my 4 runner from Milford. Looked them up in the phone book. they have a mobile fitting service that will come to you at work or anywhere else. At this time of year I expect they would want to do it undercover .I had
mine done in the summer in the yard ouside work in 2 or 3 hours .The guy was only prepared to do it on a dry day but that was not a problem in feb or march. The price was a lot cheaper than ARB Dandenong or S E 4X4 Hallam . The guy said there were a number of things to watch for with 4 runners and I presume surfs too, like drilling the holes in the pillars too deep, Ican't rember the others, But I'm glad I got a professional to do it. There was also a warrenty with the barrier and the work.

gday rexy.
not sure where you are but i worked for a company in melb years ago who
used to make cargo bariers long before milford were about.
i was the first person in victoria to actually fit a milford.
milford are a good product but now way over priced.
do as others said above and look for second hand.little bit to fit but by no means hard.if you in vic try a place called jaimeson conversions in kensington vic.
i worked there 15 yrs ago thats where the whole cargo screens started.
if interstate ring them any way freight not muchnew job coming so no fraser this time:-((

Ive got one in my Surf. From 4wd Systems, not as good or safe as the miford type and only single position. 1/3 cheaper than Milford if you can put up with the average service. it still does the job and easy to install. You only get what you pay for. The Surf (Pre 96) and 4runners would use the same barrier.
Cheers matt.
