Recently looked at a 100 series that had spent 10 months doing the Gun, CSR etc. Not a sign of red dust (plenty of scratches).
Loaded to the ceiling with gear, plus a roof top tent.
It was being readied for storage, the wine bottles were still on top of the newspapers. So it hadn't been stripped down.
Not a sign of red dust inside, not around windows, carpets etc.
Now I know a few who take their miracle vacuum devices with them. Sweep out the vehicle etc.
But this one couldn't have been detailed..it was too full of gear.

Is the dust sealing on the 100 series THAT good ??

Yeh, mate, you can always open the windows or the sunroof if you want dust.

As I told SWMBO on her first 4x4 trip. "Dust, like poverty, will always be with us".

I SAW A NEW 200 SERIES RECENTLY AT COBRA STATION WITH DUST WITHIN ALL DOOR SEALS .MAYBE DUE TO WINDOWS BEING OPEN OR NO AIR CON RUNNING. WOULD WANT MORE FOR MY MONEY IF IT WAS MINE.2007 TROOPIE OWNER

Been everywhere in mine - I have been through Bulldust Holes on the Burke Development Road that would have swallowed any other vehicle - look out the back window and the bulldust is just flowing over the window.

Hardly more than a few specks in the vehicle - never ceases to amaze me how good they are

Several time I have treated the rubber but I dont know if it really helps.

Mine keeps out the dust pretty well. Much better than my previous Pajero.

Footy,

I am happy the rear door seals on the Troopie. I have just about no signs of dust at all.
The back doors and the sliding windows do have to be closed properly and it is dust proof.
I have the fan on and the front windows up the pressurise the vehicle. The only time I might get dust entering is, if I open the front door to get out too soon, after stopping on a dusty road.

Agreed - the nips do get the prize for door sealing it seems - just been through the Pilbara which might be the harshest test, in that the iron oxide dust can shows up very quickly inside - hardly had anything to clean inside at all when we got home (the outside was quite an ordeal but). I think its important to keep all windows tightly shut on gravel and have the fresh air fan on about 3/4 or more to pressurize the inside - I'm told frequent cleaning of the door seals with a damp cloth brings further benefit (we aren't that organised yet).
