OPEC seen keeping oil prices around $70-$90/bbl so when the hell are we going to get a cheaper price at the pumps.

Still have to factor in that our fuel price is tied to the Singapore oil exchange and the huge fall in the $AUD but you're right. It's still obscene that Oil proces have halved in the past 4 months and fuel prices only comes off less than 10%.

Not at all.....the pricing methodology is available to all..

Happy to discuss it with you off-line, but it has been done to death on this forum and most people don't want to accept the facts....

I'm not here to convince you either way.

Good luck...

Hi Landy, I admit to being one of those who don't "want" to know the facts, yesterday we were coming home from Albany where diesel was $1.68.9 per lt, coming up the Highway it was $1.61.9 at the Halfway House, (a roadhouse 160klms from Perth ie: country), we got back to Perth and our local BP was charging $1.66.9, could you please explain to me your facts to justify the discrepancy in these prices as this is my facts and the reason for me being so sceptical.

Hi Dunworkin…

I’ve posted previously and submitted blogs that deal with some of the high level facts and myths surrounding pricing; what inputs there are and what influences them. Happy to answer any specific questions you might have with respect to that…but whether a retailer should have a price 5 cents higher or lower on any given day is beyond my scope, but most likely due to discounting or lack thereof in that region.

Nothing new in that..

Cheers

G'day Doug,

There's a piece about it in this morning's Melbourne Age:-

The Age Petrol Prices

In it, there's a gorgeous piece of big business double speak from the petrol companies that says:-
"Their initial response is that things are very volatile, that they look at things on a daily basis and that their pricing practices haven't changed."

Regardless of which way you read it, it still looks like the petrol/diesel buying public are getting shafted.

Cheers,
Chris

Now the way it will go.......when oil gets back to around $140 a barrel and they have not dropped it to where it should be....when the oil was $70 a barrel and the dollar was worth 70 cents diesel was under a $1 a litre, so by keeping it up now they will really shaft us when it goes back up. And Kevin 747 is not going to do anything about it as he needs the dollars to try making up his big 10 billion dollars spend.
And why do they do it...we are use to pay sh't loads for it and they reckon we will just put up with it..as we bloody do.

Cheers Bruce
PS that my gripe for today hahahahah
