I just tried to search for 'patrol gearbox oil' and got nothing like what I was looking for. Got replies with Rodeo's and other garbage, all sorts of irrelevant post responses. It used to be pretty ordinary but now its better to use google!!

Hmmm ..... using "Patrol" AND "gearbox oil" as the Search parameters, I got 3 pages of apparently relevant posts. Try it.

how can I search for results that contain patrol+gearbox+oil? For all the results, most are a subset forthe individual words I'm using in my search.

Also it would be nice to have the option to search only topic/headings and also to display results as individual posts and not entire threads. This would make it easier to browse the results. ATM you have to look though the entire thread to find the post with the key words you were searching with.

Leroy,

No problems search will default to use OR not AND so a search of Patrol Gearbox Oil will be Patrol or Gearbox or Oil and will result in heaps of threads. A search of Patrol and Gearbox and Oil will only return results where all three words appear in the post. Or you can use quotes as we did in the search link I did before with is Patrol and "Gearbox Oil" which will find thread with Patrol and an exact match of "Gearbox Oil".

I could convert the and to be a plus char but t the moment it is the word and. You can also use the word near so Patrol near Gearbox near oil will return results ranked on how close the words appear near each other.

Topic heading search - yes I agree and will look at this in the next round of forum search updates. As for individual posts when exactly do you mean are you wanting just to see the specific reply of followup that contains the match and not the thread?

yes the specific reply/followup, then in the reply/followup you could click a link to see the entire post if need be.
Thanks for the heads up I shall continue my searching.

Hey Leroy,
If you want to find any specific word in any program whether it be a word document, PDF, Excell or a website, simply push "CTRL" and "F" at the same time. Just type the word you want to look for and it will find them one at a time. Saves reading the whole post.
