Had a great weekend on
Stockton Beach. Weather was fantastic- just past a full moon Sat. night- good fun playing on the dunes on Sunday- and good company.
But the garbage dumped all over the place was disgusting !! Between our mob we took six large garbage bags of rubbish off
the Beach- but I think it would take six trucks to put a dent in the mess.
It disturbs me how any person can destroy such an environment without any thought. And the broken glass didn't help either.
I just wonder what some of 'their' homes are like ??
OK- that's my whinge......

I believe there may be a clean up day organised for the 26th October? There's a thread on it at PCoA
http://pcoa.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3219
but I'm not sure if they're the ones organising it. The day is called
"See Red about rubbish"

Yes there is a clean up on 26th, those going to it need to know that the Freeway going north at Berowra WILL BE CLOSED that day for road works and it could be a good idea to go up on the 25th and
camp on the dunes if you intend going.
This news was emailed to me via 4WD NSW & ACT yesterday.
Signman I will send you said email now.
Cheers Colin.

Signman.
Well Done Mate, need more of you. It seems that there is a lot of campers now days that think rubbish should be left on site. We have taken to cleaning up when we leave
camping spots in FNQ. Same problem, there is so much rubbish left by others. What is wrong with them? it is not hard to take it away. We see a rising amount of Zip Ties! What is all that about, do people Zip Tie their loads then just cut them off when they get there and then leave them on the ground? Sad to see it is. Cheers Regards TONY

Know what you are talking about, i have said similar about Ourimbah
State Forest, everytime i go there there is more rubbish, happens everywhere people are not interested in cleaning up after themselves, they will dump whatever and whenever they can, there are only a select few who do clean up.

I was there also the same weekend , you may have seen me .. was the only Jayco there :) at 3 am had some idiot on a quad bike come past the van - when i looked at the tyre marks in the morning they were less than 2 meters from the van ???? WHY???? im sure that if i took my skiboat to his house at 3 am and started it outside his window he would get the cranks ( especially because its a worked 350CHEV )
anyway - i agree with you - the place is pretty dirty - but a lot of the rubbish i had seen was washed up stuff , not dropped -
I Have one of those large Garbage bags that go on the rear wheel by Infront
camping -- And i always fill the bag up before i leave , 1/2 is my rubbish - the other half is bottles and crap from the immediate area wheret i
camp, inc collecting broken glass
IF every single visitor would do this every time they went -- it would be MUCH cleaner - does not take that long - maybe 10 min of your time ... and you will feel all warm and fuzzy inside like i do every time i leave knowing i left it cleaner than i found it ....
