Gidday
I’ve just come back from a few days in the High Country. As luck would have it, a South Westerly came straight out of Antarctic.
Dog and I shivering our socks off in the evening and during the night.
Most of the misery comes from the cold air underneath the car. No good having a fire if the heat is blown away.
So, rang up a fella I know in QLD, and asked him to manufacture a draught skirt to attach to the bottom of the car to stop the wind.
The design only requires a couple of Oky straps and two or three ground pegs.
The dirty rotta is going to charge me $60 for the idea,
but it's
well worth while. LOL
Regards
Kim

I tie a tarp to the tray and hold it down with a couple of shovels of dirt. Dosn't cost anything.

Two 12 x 10 tarps - one for the roof, one for the wall, works for me.

Last time I was up that way it was a bit cool.
I decided to stop taking photos when I found the skin on my fingers was sticking to the metal parts of the cameras!
Nothing beats that kind of cold except a really really good sleeping bag and appropriate clothing.

Your not wrong. It was bloodly cold.
I should have the draugh skirt within 3-4 weeks. I'll report back on how effective it is.
