Hi Couple of questions, does a caravan need a green slip in NSW and how do NSW travellors get on when they are out of state for say 6 months and their rego runs out and require an inspection, from NZ and this is new to us.

Trailers (including caravans) are covered under the tow vehicle greenslip. The cover is australia wide.
No idea about the NZ issue, sorry.

As previously posted your caravan is covered by the tow vehicles GreenSlip. You will however, require for a NSW Registered Caravan, a Pink Slip, sometimes referred to as a "roadworthy" certificate.

Thanks for that Ian ,its a bit different in NZ,we bought the caravan in NSW because it is what we wanted and a good price,BUT we will be buying a 4x4 in WA as that is where our family is and the van will eventually [after one years ownership] be swapped over to WA plates,So we will have WA plates on the 4x4 and NSW on the van......is that ok.?Appreciate your imput.

I recently went away for a few months and my renewal fell whilst I was away. In NSW, you can pay for your rego 3 months prior to the date required and if you get a PINK slip, that will last for 40 days I think.
Then all you do is pay it on line, or over the phone. Too easy.
