has anyone installed an under bonnet, belt driven, ex air conditioning compressor in a 100 series landcruiser?

Apparently this can be done. "endless air" (VIC) have a system, although very pricey.

While they are happy to provide pictures of a set up to suit Nissan, I cannot find any pictures of a Landcruiser 100 series. No-one in Adelaide can help either.

The company told me that the compressor is mounted high on the left (passenger side) near the power steering pump, but without the need to reposition any factory fitted items under bonnet. The compressor is driven off a double pulley which takes the place of the idler pulley.

(what do the brackets attach to?)

I already have a 25 litre ex-air brake tank and have manufactured brackets for it, so I only need to sort out mounting of the compressor.

I have access to engineering equipment and machinery, so doing it myself (brackets etc) would be quite feasible.

Any advice/pictures/details is greatly appreciated.

Try asking on the Lcool forum ( you have to join to post)

It is model specific so would give a better answer.

I did read somewhere that this was almost impossible due to lack of space however it may be OK

Mate has done it on his 105 series petrol so it can be done but don't have any pictures or info. Location you describe I think is where it was and the bracket I think was mounted on the engine block.

Try Peter Young at Alltrac 4WD 08 8234 6877 he has fitted one to his 100# Turbo. There were some issues with the brackets & the idler pulley bearing
