Just came back from a week in the Hattah, Murray Sunset and Wyperfield NP's with 8 vehicles and 15 club members and what a blast.
Even though I had driven up and down the Western highway on many occasions I didn't realise the treasure that was offered if you drove off the road into one of these NPs.
Although it was very dry the scenery and wildlife was quite spectacular and we had no problem amusing ourselves for a week in this country. Only problem was the bees around any looking for water, (see photo) and we had to put out decoy water sources to keep them away from the camp and out of your coffee cups etc.
The sand driving in the parks is great and at Wyperfield we got a miniature taste of the Simpson with some decent sand dunes to test out on.
Weather was perfect with warm days and cool nights, 4 degrees c on one night.
Sorry Mick O but I didn't find your lost glasses but I did look.

Anyone looking for a place close to Melb with a bit of sand driving should consider these parks as a destination. Image Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be Found

Thanks for looking R & L. It's a great place isn't it. Did you camp on the bend that I gave you the GPS co-ords for?

Cheers

Mick

Hi Rod
Good to see you are enjoying life down in Vic.
Ray W phoned yesterday and said he caught up with you and Lorna recently.
Cheers
