Hi,
Has anyone found a brand of screen for a reversing camera small enough to fit into the sunglusses pocket up in the roof light/mirror area of the GU?
I'm thinking that would be a good spot for it and I could hopefully still close it when it's not in use.
I don't mind having to modify the sunglasses pocket as it isn't deep enough for most sunnies anyway.
Thanks,
Dave

Can't really answer your question, but have done a bit of "work" in that area of my GU.
I removed the standard mirror and made a right angle steel bracket that utilises the "break-away" system (for safety reason) and then mounted my 5" screen to that bracket.
As for the sunglasses holder, I removed it and mounted a speaker for my
HF radio in there. It is a "noise-cancelling" type speaker which has a switch on it to supply 12 volts to enable the cancelling feature to operate. It also has a earphone jack on one side. I can still access these features....the speaker is sort of half-in and half-out of the hole.
I would imagine that any screen that would fit in the sunglasses holder would be too small to be practical, maybe......
Good luck
Roachie

Thanks Roachie.
I'm thinking a 2.5" screen or similar. They don't need to be really big. The ones built into the
Ambulance mirrors are about that size.
I didn't really want to replace the mirror.
The noise cancelling on my HF is a function of the NGT so I just mounted the HF speaker under my
seat. Works quite
well.
Thanks,
Dave

hi mate, i have fitted one in the sunglass holder as you described.
got it off eBay about three years ago, works fine for me. when not in use i close flap and the screen turns off via a micro switch.

Hi Shane,
Thanks for that. If you don't still have the details on it would it be possible to post a photo of your setup on here or email it to me - dave at davejones.com.au?
Thanks very much & I really like the microswitch idea.
