Hi all, still in the proccess of buying a new ute Nissan D40 or Hilux diesel, leaning towards the Hilux, the only thing i dont like is the 15"
wheels on them when all the others have 16 - 17"
wheels. I have been told by toyota its for load bearing. Has anyone put larger after market ones on, and is it possible to put Prado or Land Cruiser
wheels on a Hilux any thoughts guys!!!!!

g'day
I put 17" Sunrasia steel rims on my 2007 TD Hi Lux in March last year
I fitted them with Mickey Thompson LT245/70 R17 BAJA ATZ Radial tyres. I bought six tyres and rims and I rotate them every 5000 K.
I have done 50000k with no problems.
I also fitted a heavier duty Old Man Emu
suspension.
It looks like I will get about another 60k out of the tyres.
Scrubcat and I did the Simpson a couple of months ago and we
hit a large rock near Mt Dare.(Scrubby was driving HAHAHA).
The front n/s wheel had a large ding in it and we belted it out with a sledge hammer..No damage to the tyre and the wheel is ok.
I can't fault the Hi Lux, tyres or
wheels.
