This has been done before but I did the old search thing but do not have a lot of luck finding the subject.
I have fitted the Lokka Diff Lock and I have been advised to fit Free Wheeling Hubs.
Has anyone been through this as of late? I see by past posts most RA Free wheel hubs with 17 splines should fit, even some Rodeos may fit. There are after market ones avalable around the $250 mark and they look easy to fit.
Any one that has been there done that could you please share your experience, it would be much appreciated. Cheers Tony

Hi Tony, I did the whole job on the MU, Lokka and free wheeling hubs. Brought the hubs from the same place I got the diff, AVMs there are. I only replaced the old auto hubs as they were stuffed. Its a pretty easy job to change them.

Cheers Bruce

PS has the Rodeo got shift on the fly? it does not matter as the Wizard has and it now has manual hubs to.

Bruce. Yes Shift on the fly. Have found some posts on other Forums that suggest the fitting of free wheeling hubs does not interfere with any of the 4x4 options. So it looks like the AVMs might be the go, just have to find a local supplier . Have sent emails to wreckers to see if I can source them that way. Bit of a shame, it was good to be lazy and not get out of the car to do the 4x4 thing. Well now its another good excuse for a cup of tea. Thanks! Regards Tony

I would not be to worried about changing the hubs unless the auto ones are stuffed. The only problem you would have is putting it in high four at speed, might be a bit hard to steer. Other wise there is no difference, some of the manual hubs are not that strong either. Just remember not to put as much power on now with the Lokka as you would have done with the open diff. If you lift a wheel and it comes down on something hard with a lot of power on you could bust a CV.

Cheers Bruce

Bruce Ta for that, my mechanic strongly advised it as with the Lokka fitted it was wanting to turn the RHS Shaft, Diff and tailshaft. He assumed wear, drag and a steering pull were on the cards. Luckily I have found that Rodeo RA, Jackaroo and AVM433 (for the Isuzu/Trooper11 and Jackaroo) 17 spline Free wheeling hubs all fit the last Rodeo Model. You can source these in numerous locations so I went this way and I am glad of it. Do not have to worry too much about it all spinning now.
I will post a new thread re the cost of all this and a feedback on the Lokka. Cheers Tony
