Darrell. I agree its not so obvious as yet. I thought I had seen on some doco though that some Pacific Islands are now going under. I will have to do some research to confirm. Yes who knows? Some say yes some say no! I have noticed beaches getting eaten further back into the dunes though. Walker Bay in Cooktown has lost a lot of beach - never seen it with so less sand, this could be a normal cycle or a sign of things to come. Cheers Tony

Darrell. A good place to check in Townsville would be the Ross River Weir. I was Fishing that back in the seventies. You could walk across the wall and fish off the other side at low tide. There was a cement wing wall where we fished off the base. If you still can at low tide the!!!!!!!! Cheers Tony

Not sure about the sea. I live nearly an hour from it. But the river level has dropped about a metre. And they say we are experiencing our driest spring in history (all 200 yrs of it). Global warming and all that. The last driest was in the 1890's. Was the globe warming then as well? I dunno, I wasn't around.

Louie
we are constantly bombarded with rising sea levels, global warming etc, I'm not even attempting to argue the validity of that.

I do remember so called experts telling us in the 80s and even in the early 90's that we are heading into a new ice age, where did that one go?????.

Whenever we hit a record high or low it's the "worst in XXX years" that tells me that we have had worse some time in the past.

Global warming has been around for millions of years as have ice age's, that is evident in polar ice core samples and rock strata, and all of that without toxic fumes from cars trucks and factories.

Please excuse me if I am a bit cynical about "So called experts".

One has to apply some logic to what they read & hear as not every expert is totally un-biased, they all seem to have an agenda of some sort, be it pro or con.
Cheers, Colin.

Col, I think you're right there. All these groups seem to have their own agendas - whatever they may be. As for me, I do what I have done for years; look after what I have and try to be environmentally friendly where possible. Having said that, I own 2 gas guzzlers, a V8 powered boat and a 4WD. And people try to tell me that I shouldn't have them. Once again, their own agenda.

Experts have been known to be wrong before. I remember when I was a kid at school in the early 70's, they said we would be driving levitating cars by the year 2000. LOL

Welcome to the cynics's society.

Global warming is a crock of bleep and as someone else mentioned, another way to get more tax dollars out of the ordinary pleb.
