I have a TomTom 720 which is great for navigating the city. Recently I saw the hema navigator in action, seems like a great product.

Rather than sell the TomTom and buy the Hema, is anyone aware if there is maps available to the same track detail as the Hema, that I could load into the TomTom?

OztopoV2 on a garmin GPSr will give you more detail than the hema maps, magellan also have the same product for their recievers, but if your looking for the same type of screen you'll need to have a PDA with OziexporerCe installed and have better scaled maps on it

A number of the PND (Personal Navigation Devices) run Microsoft Windows CE under the hood. These devices can be hacked to be able to run Oziexplorer as well as the built in navigation software, the same as what the Hema Navigator does. However you will need a reasonable knowledge of WindowsCE and a lot of patience to get it all working.
The value of buying the Hema one is that someone else has done all the hard work for you.

I have a HP Ipaq 314 on which I am running Ozi, and it is very nice. I also know of car navigation systems that people have manged to get Ozi working on as well. I think the Hema one is a re-badged Mio device.

I am unsure if the TomTom device can be hacked, but a google search should provide the answer (Or someone else on this forum may know)

Logic Gear is another one. Can also run reversing camera through it as well as handsfree mobile.
