Who has an oztent. I just bought an RV4 with the peaked side panels and a front panel and a fly . What i like about it is that you can just set up the main tent if staying over night . You can set up the rest if staying longer . It really only took me thirty seconds from taking it out of the bag to having the tent up . The hardest part is knocking in the six ground pegs .

Bought a RV3 cause we run short of room in the camper van if there is more than 2 people.
Love it.
Hope to do the desserts when I retire and will use it with a canopy flat tray 4wd ute.

I have an RV3 and while I find it easy to erect I find the packing up a bit more difficult. Packing it small enough to get back in the bag is not a 30 sec job.

I agree to a point . Are you rolling the tent over once the legs are folded in so its neat and putting the strap on it . I then put the bag over the top of the tent and then turn the whole lot over then do the zip up . I have seen worse tent bags .

Yep, rolling it over and packing it as tight as possible and now using two straps on it. It still takes far longer to pack up than it would if they made the bag slightly larger.
I agree there are far worse tents to pack up.

I have the RV5 and the bigger tents seem to have a more "forgiving" bag.
I can get the tent, side panels, front panel , aswell as the extra poles, 8 big sand pegs and a mallet all in the bag, mind you, you better have eaten you weetbix getting all that on the roof rack!!

I agree. Why cant they make the bag a bit bigger??? It would surely simplify the packing.
Cheers

I have the RV4 and love it.
I agree with the set up speed, and have received many comments from fellow campers on how quickly we can get set up.
Packing is not so quick, but we collapse it, fold the legs in, and roll it before fitting a strap around it. then we put the bag over it and roll it again to zip up. Pretty simple and quick enough for us.
Enjoy it ..
mine is
well travelled and still going strong.

I recently bought a brand new RV2 and buggered it because stupid me packed it on the trailer next to the (open) wheel. It rubbed a hole through the bag, the floor, the roof.
After I stopped crying :-( I contacted OzTent, sent it back to them for repair (naturally at my cost - my fault). Also bought the fly as insurance roof won't leak.
I can thoroughly recommend this company. Very professional and excellent to deal with.

Hi
Malcolm, no need to send it back to Oztenet at your expense, any canvas repairer can fix it.

We have had the RV3 for a few years now, though it has played second fiddle to the camper over the last year. Very good product. Bag is an easy fix, get a canvas one made if it is causing a drama, and they do. Could definately be a bit bigger.

We have an RV5 with peak walls and front panel.
Great tent. Just need a flat roof rack to carry it.
It is the only tent, or tent like thing that I have ever owned that has not leaked even a little bit.

I have the RV5, Also have the peaked side panels and the front panel and while the while lot cost $$$, I'm glad I did.
If staying over night and there is no
sign of wind, I don't even use pegs.
You won't be able to unroll the awning but that's no big deal.
Had
mine for 4 years now, I managed to put 2 small hole's in the floor (don't know how) but just used a tyre tube patch to fix it.
One other thing I did is go down to supache.. and bought a couple of 8x6 ft plastic tarps, $3-4, and use them as ground sheets.
Keeps the underside of the tent dry as I found that condensation often causes mud and earth to stick to the bottom of the tent making wrap-up in the morning just that little bit difficult.
Roll the taprs up so all the mud stays with-in, once it drys out a quick brush with the small broom and is good to go, and HEAPS easier than cleaning the underside of tent.
There's a couple of photo's in my memebers profile
