I am wondering if any
forum members are using these globes in a Gu 4 or later Patrol & if there is a noticable improvement in headlamp performance over the standard globes (the Bluepower globes are also 60/55w)
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Regards Don

G'day, I have just put in "HID look" 90/100 globes from Brightlights, a lot brighter and whiter than the standard 60/55 globes
Brighlight Super white globes

Thanks for the feedback so far
I am currently working at a company that stocks these & other narva globes & reading the information on all the range the blue power seem to offer the best chance of improvement over standard as some of the others in the range only seem to offer a cosmetic improvement
The glass is not blue in total but has a clear band in the centre & the blue tint in the tinted area is a lot lighter than some of the other blue globes that are tinted all over the glass
I have the chance to buy them at the moment at a good price & i am tempted to give them a try
I don't do a lot of night driving & can't justify fitting
driving lights or converting the headlamps to hid but if the bluepower globes give a noticable improvement it would be worth the money

be careful the wiring cannot handle that wattage and you may burn out your switch

I fitted a set last night & there is a noticable improvement on both high & low beam with the most improvement being on low (seems to be a lot longer & fuller than the originals)
I was concerned that i might get flashed by oncoming traffic but so far no one has
I think for the money they cost (approx $50-60 retail for a set of 2) the change was worthwhile

IMHO they are a waste of time and money as they are no more than about 5% brighter. Also with a GU you should definitely not put higher wattage in as the reflectors are polycarbonate ( plastic) and it will discolour or melt the reflectors.
IMHO you should go for HID though a million people will tell you they are illegal without washers. Fact is so is any headlight upgrade over about 85W on any vehicle. Properly aligned and not a chapie set will be the best option and not dazzle oncoming traffic.
