Hiya Guys
I am thinking about getting the Rhino Rack
Click on my ARB Canopy with internal supports,to carry swag, shovel, high lift jack etc etc...
Now i was told i cannot go from the Canopy to the Cab because of the movement while 4wd....How correct is this...
Instead of 1500mm i would have liked 1800mm with bar across roof also to support.
Also does anybody know of a racking company that makes a rack that fit's between
the tub and canopy and go over the outside of the canopy ????
Cheers

ARB actually do a rack system for canopies that allows about 600mm over the cab, fully supported by the 2 bars with internal support.
I used the TJM 2 bar rack system on my Triton dual cab and used the ARB tradesman rack on it.
Check the pic out in my profile.
Cheers Kev

Hiya Kev
It was ARB that restricted
the overhang to 300, that givs me a 1500 Rhino Rack...Where did you get this info,is there a website somewhere,an 1800 would be perfect...I did not mention its a high arb canopy which i wouldnt think that would make a diff..
Cheers

The high roof kills you as you can see in the pic in my rig profile of the triton. It makes the fuel economy go through the roof as the rack sits about 200mm above the cab.
I am sure the ARB Canopy rack is at least 1800mm long................... Yep I just went and measured the the rack and it is 1900mm long and 1250mm wide with open front and Back.
Cheers Kev

I once made a full length rack for my dual cab landcruiser so I could rack long items as a tradesman. Unfortunately after 4x4 driving for a year or so the rack had loosened all the guttering to the cab. I had to remove the rack and refix all of the dual cab roof along the gutter. Since then I have built a full length roof rack coming up from a support that starts at the scrub bars. This support goes up and around the windscreen which protects my arial and windscreen transoms from getting bashed by branches down those narrow tracks. The support then joins to the tray via two 40mm poles - the same size as the scrub bars. I have loaded this with lots of gear and traveled off road for years now with no problems. Bit more wind drag but I get to have a long roof rack without tearing my cab apart.

Hi Warfer I traveled with a mate this year who has a navara duel cab. He had a custom made rack which extended over the roof.Looked great but craked every where. They reiforced the uprights so hopefuly it will peform bettter. One upright had snapped completley through with the sway movement.

Gday Warfer,
My cab and canopy move a lot in opposite directions - just from the twist in the chassis.
With a dual cab, I'd put the rack over the cab, and not the canopy - keep the weight forward of the rear axle - too many instances of bent chassis on dual cabs.
