In April this year I submitted my first Exploroz Blog entry. It was a bit of feedback on the
David Carnegie Road. I followed up with a track report from this years trip into the western deserts from
Alice Springs while I was on the track. Having always wanted a webpage or similar to share some of my outback travel experiences, in a rash of enthusiasm, I decided to post my travel journals from previous years and include some photo’s to the Exploroz blog site. I started this back in late August.
This morning the I got the 10,000th visit to the various pages I have posted. I am just amazed. I’ve only managed 77 entries to date which is a fraction of my journals dating back to the late 70’s. Unfortunately life and work get in the way of computer time. Along the way I’ve had people contact me seeking advice and imparting their knowledge as
well. I’ve even had someone chip me for not offering advice on
camping spots and road conditions which is great. (It's a desert! There were no roads and it’s
camp anywhere lol). It just goes to show how easy it is to enhance a community of practise and engagement. I reckon the facility also provides exceptional value for your
membership $ going by the price of web page hosting.
Thanks to all those who’ve taken the time to read them. I’ll plod on as time permits and a few of the old ones will reappear as I add bit’s and pieces to them (I’m slowly getting a hang of these video uploads!). Thanks to all the others who’ve been “blogging” their journals, trips and track reports. They are great reading and a fantastic avenue for picking up great information.
Cheers
Mick.

Congratulations Mick,
I have read your
blogs and re read them sometimes too!! They are a great effort on your part and they're giving many people a lot of enjoyment and inspiration. I may never get to travel into those remote areas to the extent that you have but you are taking me with you through your words and photos.
Thank you
Viv

Mick, that roof top tent looks a long way down !
Thank you for your efforts. I know how hard it is to find the time to successfully condense your experiences into an interesting blog. You have managed it very
well. It's especially interesting to be able to retrace your travels on maps and Google Earth.

You are too humble Mick.
The info you provide is of great interest to many in, reading about the adventures you have had, trip planning or day dreaming about wishing to get out there.
Keep them coming.
cheers
Phil

Yes.
Well done Mick. I've read a couple of your blog entries and always said (to myself), I'll have to come back and spend some more time here.
Thanks for the reminder and keep up the great work.

Hi Mick
Like Vivien, I may never get out to all those interesting
places, but do enjoy reading your Blog about them. Maybe we will get to some of them. You have lived the outback touring many of us only dream about. Thanks and may you have many more similar adventures.

Hi Richard
You too have reported some fascinating trips, on
routes i can only dream about. There is a lot of Australia out there to see, and i spend too much time on ExplorOz reading and dreaming, and not enough time catching up on the the jobs at home!
Hope to catch up with you again on the road somewhere.

I hope so as
well, didn't get around to write a blog or trip report for the caravan trip.
but seeing how the
forum has settled down a bit I might put pin to paper or keyboard to screen .. oh what ever...
