Hello all learned ones,
I have a GME TX3200, and upon turning on display 'err'. Im guessing that this indicates an error, but does anyone have any ideas as to why?
Mike

Does it run off an auxiliary battery??? if so...is the battery flat? does it happen when the car is running?.
I had a similar issue and found the battery wasn't holding charge any longer and the CB only worked after running the car for a few minutes...
New battery...no worries.
Just a thought.....
cheers

Mike, maybe your battery is okay (starts the engine etc), but then you could still have a poor connection somewhere between the battery and the radio, which equates to the same end result.
So, check all the wiring to the radio. Is it wired direct from the battery to the radio via a fuse? If so, check the connections and the fuse holder etc. If it gets it's power from another source that you've tapped into (eg; one of those HORRIBLE sctch-lock gizmos), check those connections. In my experience Scotch-locks are a source of numerous electrical woes and I refuse to have them on my vehicle. Instead, if I want to tap into an existing power cable (where a sctch-lock would commonly be used), I actually strip a portion of the insulation (about 3mm long) off the donor cable and wrap the new cable around it and then solder (being careful of dry solder joints), followed by covering the new joint with liquid electrical tape or wrapping it in standard electrical tape.
