No camping at Avalon.
Nearest CP will be Werribee South or the Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula area.

I camped a couple of years ago, I think at the Lara footy ground (don't quote me!).

Basic facilities, tent city, but quite fine.

Avalon is great. Some amazing aircraft, and awesome aerial displays. (no shade - if it's sunny, be sure to take a lid)

Yes camping at the air-show means camping on or next to the Lara football Ground. they have shuttle busses direct to the air-show and return.

Previously camping was next to the airport which added to the atmosphere of actually being there but the lack of infrastructure, the cost and the large number of campers made the situaiton unbearable.

Still remember getting up at 3.30am for a shower and having to wait 45 minutes, any other time of day and the wait was two hours plus. The shower was cold as well.

Best idea is to camp in Geelong and don't rush to ge tout the car park, 2 - 3 hours is a normal wait. Use this time to enjoy the airshow more or have a picnic in the carpark

if you ride a motorbike it takes about 10 mins to get there and park right at the gates.
