got a pajero thats dropped the harmonic balancer a couple of times,at $2000 per time repair ive decided to go for another unit. i LIKE the 80 and 100 series wagons ,automatic petrol or dual fuel BUT in the car yards [dealers yards] theyve got 240K Plus on the clocks. One had 360K. The salesman told me "theyre good for 600K"
how good are the older ones and will they do the distance please??? looked at one in Gilgandra Toyota yard, local owner but 360K... he assures me it'll do the distance...$9000 NO Warranty ..
Comments please...Cheers.. Rod

Diesels do 600000ks , petrols arround 400000 to 450000ks, Heads go first. They are a good unit but a bit thirsty.
You can pick up V6 Jacks with 100000ks for arround $12000.00, very good vehicle if you stay away from the 3lt diesel.
Cheers Pete

Rugged work horse diesel engines are usually good for very high kms. However, starter, alternator (vaccume pump),
suspension wheel bearings, drive shaft universals, clutch, fuel pump,
water pump, radiator etc etc. do wear out and will not last as long as the engine. Some of these items are not usually big ticket but it all adds up. Personally, I would not touch any vehicle that has been modified by the addition of a turbo or duel fuel system.
