Hi Julie

Some of my blogs cover parts of your route.

In 2005 we went around the south coast of WA (seeing only places we hadn't seen in a lifetime in the south west), then via the Parmango road east of Esperance through to Balladonia and on into SA, where we toured the Eyre Peninsula.

In 2006 we went to Tasmania, going to Melbourne via Peterborough then through the southern section of east SA then the coast of Victoria. On the return journey, we included Bordertown.

In 2007 we toured around the Kalgoorlie region.

Bush camping is pretty easy to find in most of the SA and WA areas you mention.

Have a look and see if it gives you ideas of what you are interested in.

Just west of Horsham is the Wimmera River Driver Reviver spot which is handy and open.
Across the Eyre Highway any of the documented Camps Aust 4 camp spots especially on the north side of the highway to keep away from salt spray when near the coastal sections of the Eyre Highway.
Guess you are doing this over "summer" and the top of the bight whale watch spot would be a bit lacking of whales, other wise that would be a MUST SEE.
From Ceduna down to Lincoln try to visit Smooth Pool, Venus Bay, Talia Caves, Lincoln National Park, Whalers Way [both have camping spots]
Between Lincoln & Pt Augusta there are several camps spots - Lipson Coveabout 25k north of Tumby Bay & Red Banks a few k north of Arno Bay, then Port Gibbon just south of Cowell.
East of Burra is Burra Creek Gorge AKA Worlds End.
As you are towing a campertrailer and are fairly self suffient the spots indicated should be real nice.
Have a beaut safe trip.
Cheers - Mobi

When stopping at Burra the info center has a historic site pass which will give you heaps of info of Burra's mining history and sites with a token pass for some buildings and sites. The drive in Goyders footsteps on the northern side of Burra is also a good drive. A booklet is available from the info center also and it gives you a detialed map , directions and info about Goyder and the area. Hattah Kulkyne NP just north of Ouyen is also good with plenty of good camping.
Have a good trip
