I have a brand new set of factory aluminium side steps (someone gave to me) but can't for the life of me figure out what vehicle they come off! (they were taken off the vehicle at purchase in 2006 and replaced with ARB steel ones). The bloke that gave them to me doesnt know what they came off either.

They are longer than an 80 series step, but they have 4 brackets underneath (whereas the 80 and 100 landcruisers only have three)

Does anyone know what they might be off? They look like they are off a toyota and I say this because each bracket looks identical to the ones off my 80, and the anodised aluminium non-slip pattern is also the same, but it could also be a patrol as I think they have a longer wheelbase.

I think the trick question is which vehicles have FOUR brackets underneath for the steps?????????

Any help greatly appreciated as they are a good set of steps and need to go to a new home rather than sit in the shed.

Can email pictures if need be.

I took mine of the patrol a couple of weekends back and from memory it only has 3 supports. Patrols are also normally black as factory from about 2006 onwards.

For what it's worth, the side steps on my 120 series Prado has four brackets.

Hi. I have an 04 Prado. Only three brackets and the front end is a tapered, moulded shape to blend into the mudflap. Bob.

Actually I tell a small white lie - I just re-looked at the side steps in the shed and yes, there are 4 "L" brackets, but there is also a 5th smaller flat one which is up front (behind the front mud guard).

So, in reality it has 5 brackets attaching it...

I don't have steps so can't check for you - but maybe a dual cab hilux?
