I have already organised and paid for camping over Christmas and now my brother has decided he is going to the inlaws. Instead of mum staying home by herself I offered for her to come to Bundaberg with us.

She did this a couple of years ago with us and we borrowed a friends dome tent but it was too hot and she couldnt stand up properly in it plus it leaked in the rain. Therefore I thought an Oztent might be easier for her and her foldup bed as will give better ventilation and more space. We can them put the awning of the Oztent onto the annexe of the camper.

I dont want to spend a $1000 buying one just to use once every couple of years so was hoping someone in the Brisbane to Bundaberg area could lend us one from 24 Dec - 2 January. Happy to pay small fee or use ie carton beer, bottle rum, etc, etc....

I know there is a guy in Kallangur (north brissy) that hires oztents out for about $11/day. Let me know if you want his details.

How big an Oztent do you need? I've got a Tourer 9 model but I suspect that it will not be big enough. If it is it's yours to borrow. I'm on the Gold Coast

Wasn't there a big thread not so long ago about people whining about lending out gear ???

I suggest daisygirl you go the hire option,a carton of booze for a possible rip/tear in a $800 plus tent wont cut it....Lets face it you don't know what could happen.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions as I didnt know that they could be hired and Kallangur is quite close. Also the deal on ebay looks great and thanks for taking the time to search for me.

It now seems like one of the families coming away with us may have a spare Oztent as they will be using their caravan.

I should know for sure in the next 2 weeks but will certainly look into some of the other options in the meantime.
