ford ranger bleeping door bleeper

hi all i drive a new ford
ranger , every time you put the key in the ignition with the door open it bleeps from under the dash some where. has any one disabled this at all? if so how ? where exactly is the bleeper ? cheers

Before you silence it make sure that is all it is for and not to warn you of other things as
well.....ie seatbelts.

Its meant to beep to remind you as to the location of the key in the ignition. nissans and toyotas do as
well. the circuit is connected into the dome light circuit and the buzzer is mounted behind the dash proper. disconnection is reasonably easy but you may have to put a diode in to activate the door light indicator in the dash

To fix the problem and leave the buzzer functional for other things such as headlight advice, remove the lower cowling under the steering wheel and unplug the connector to the back of the ignition switch.
This fixed the problem in my BT50

Even after you remove the three screws, you might find the lower casing reluctant to come off. Just gently force the edges out where it meets with the upper casing and it should drop.
