Hi folks, i heard you no longer need a permit to traverse QLD state forests, can anyone confirm or deny this....geeez if its true ive been missing out big time.

This has been happening since February 2007 :-) It has been replaced by a signage system that outlines what users are allowed to do and where.

It doesn't mean that all State Forest is able to be accessed, just that the old DPI system has been changed to an easier system to administer.
