Just heard on
HF radio from a VKS737 member up north. He has been waiting in
Birdsville for road openings, following recent rain (he wanted to go south to
Innamincka). Was advised in BV this morning that roads were open and he could proceed so he went east and then down the Cordillo track. Describing the conditions as 'atrocious' he had to give it away and backtrack - he had a look at the Arrabury road too but decided against that as
well . His recommendation for anyone intending travel through that area is to wait for 2 days at least.
