Have a pajero wagon generaly tow work trailer with brakes have a low tow ball mount to clear rear door of paj. Have just bought a boat that needs a higher tow ball mount. I was wondering if any one has come across a double sided tow ball mount

I have a hayman reece WDH set up on my paj for towing the caravan that you can adjust the height on, only thing is I am not sure if you can buy the hitch without buying the whole WDH.

Hope this helps.....

Thats what I generaly do but it's a real pain undoing the ball every time. What i'm after is a double sided 50mm ball. They have them in the uk & the usa but with different size balls on either side not the same. Thanks for the reply

My 2 are different sizes, and one smaller than the other, and as you suggest one hangs below the other.

Is this normal? (or should I see a doc?) ;o)

Cheers!

this is what I use

the receiver version - with 2 different adapters because I also use a 2" US occasionally.

It is brilliant for any load

good luck

You state that you have a low tow ball on your Paj. so that it clears the door. Now if you fit a higher tow ball for your boat trailer, that will not clear the door????????
What I would do is weld a "goose neck" extension on your boat trailer so as your boat trailer and work trailer have the same height socket

I tow my Carpenters trailer that needs to be on the lower hitch height, as well as I tow a horse float that needs the lower hitch.
Our Camper trailer needs to be on the higher hitch height.
I borrow a mates Box trailer for site clean ups, and it needs the higher hitch.
It takes less than a minute to change it over.
If it's a Hayman Reece type, just get another tongue and ball, that way you only have a pin to pull out to change heights.

Both of those balls are too large for Australian couplings. It will not work here.

If you do not wish to have to unbolt the ball and change it over when you reverse the hitch, the answer is simple. Just purchase a second hitch and ball - you then just change the hitch over each time you want to use the high one. What could be simpler, you are obviously wanting to spend money to save a little work reversing the ball.

Hi As you say it is easier to have another tange , I got one made in Adelaide for about $30.00, also my mate has a boat repair business and he has a tange with a ball on each side , one has a 3" extension welded to the ball with a nut welded inside and that bolts to the ball on the other side ,he then just pulls it out and turns it over , works a treat, but not sure of the legality. Cheers Des.

Sorry for the delay in reply been busy with work. Sounds like were all on the same page. No easy answer we will just have to get a second hitch. Would be nice just to flip the one and and have a different height. Thanks for the input if I find a double ball I will post it and let U know. Don't hold your breath.
